So if your like me and need to declutter, here are 10 things you can get rid of to help declutter your life right now.
Go through papers you have piled up and don’t need anymore. Scan things that you want to keep and save in a file on your computer. This is a huge start in helping to declutter your life.
I know I am guilty have having at any given time over 5000 + emails in my inbox. It’s overwhelming the amount of emails that I get in one day. Sit down and do a massive deleting spree. Once I’m down to only a couple hundred I feel so much better.
Bonus: important emails don’t get buried under all the junk mail when you have thousands built up.
Like emails, I also have an overwhelming amount of clothing. My closet and dresser are literally busting at the seams with the amount of clothing I have.
If I’m being honest with myself I truly only wear about 1/3 of what I own. I pick out my favorites and put those on rotate. This is one project I will be tackling soon because it’s getting out of control.
What to do with old clothes? You can donate to the Salvation Army, sell on Poshmark or even find a local shelter or church that takes clothing donations.
Pro tip: do this when the tiny humans are not in the household or they will lose their shit. The majority of the time though, they will have no idea that the ball they haven’t played with in 4 months is now on its way to the dump.
Go through those makeup bags, linen closets and under the sinks and get rid of old hair products, makeup and other beauty items that you just don’t use. Also it’s a good idea to throw out makeup after 6 months as well.
This is pretty obvious. Get rid of these people from your life ASAP to help declutter your life.
I love books. There’s nothing better then opening a good book and sitting down to read it. However, I don’t need 350 books lying around. Go through, purge some and donate to your library so other people can enjoy.
Periodically I go through and throw out things that we don’t use, outdated items or those snacks I bought my child that he insisted he loved yet hated as soon as he took one bite.
You don’t need your very first iPhone lying around or that old printer you have t used in 3 years. Dump the old electronics and free up some space in your closet or desk.
