Having a baby is hard enough. But knowing what items you will absolutely need and those that are a waste of money is harder. It has now been a little over four weeks since little Miss Chloe has entered the world and I am starting to learn the baby items that I absolutely need and the ones I could have done without. Even though she is my third baby, many of the items they have out now were non existent when I had my other two children. Even so, I have found a few life changing products for baby that I am unable to live without and sharing them with you.
5 Life Changing Products for Baby
Bassinet
I have the Halo and I have to say, it was worth every single penny that I spent on it. It swivels to and away from the bedside as well offers sounds, lights and vibrations. Chloe is actually pretty fond of sleeping in it and I love that it can sit right next to me throughout the night so I can easily check on her. My other kids slept in a pack n play at the bedside when they were babies but it was bulky and took up a crazy amount of space. The Halo has been a game changer with this baby and our nighttime sleep. I ordered mine through Amazon and you can grab bassinet sheets HERE as well.
Hands free pump
If you have any intention at all to pump, you need a hands free one. In fact, I am typing this as I use my hands free pump right now. There are many out there on the market that range from reasonably priced (Mom Cozy) and more expensive (Willow). If noise and a discreet design are what you are after, then you may want to invest in the Willow or Elvie. These provide a sleeker, more discreet design and are quieter than the other versions out there. The more affordable option can be found HERE.
Vibrating chair
All of my children absolutely love this chair. Not only is it small in size, it is soothing to the baby as well. This has become my new favorite baby item to get things done; such as showering. Its affordable price tag is just an added bonus. This is my favorite ONE.
Owlet Monitor
We were gifted the Owlet Dream Duo and it has quickly become one of my favorite baby items. I know that this is often times controversial because some say they sock gives a false sense of security to parents but I love being able to open an app and see the quality of sleep that my child is getting. The camera also connects to the app and you can visualize your baby on the camera and see the stats from the sock. This is the most expensive item in this list but for me, it is worth every penny and if we had not been gifted one, I was fully prepared to purchase one myself.

Carrier
Another must have baby item is a carrier. This can be in the form of a more structured carrier or a wrap. I use the wrap more often around the house and the carrier while out shopping or at events. I prefer to keep baby close to me (and out of the prying reach of old ladies who mean well but like to touch new babies) when we are out. My all time favorite carrier for new babies, up to a couple of months, is the Bobby. The one I have is sadly not sold anymore but HERE is a very close version of it.
The other carrier I have is a Solly wrap. They do take a little getting used to on how to put on properly but once you get the hang of it you will love it. This ONE also has a matching child version so they can carry around their own doll.
Bonus: A swaddle
One more life changing products for baby that deserves a mention is a swaddle. Babies love being swaddled after they are born, it reminds them of feeling safe and secure like they were in the womb. Finding the right one for your baby is key to help them sleep better during those first few months. I invested in the Dreamland baby and my baby absolutely loves it. They also have non swaddle versions once baby is older and/or begins rolling.
So there you have it, a few of my favorite baby products that have been life changing. What baby product changed your life? Let me know in the comments!
