I don’t know about you but keeping a clean home is one of my biggest tasks lately. It seems that no matter what I do things pile up until I feel overwhelmed and go on a cleaning rampage. It wasn’t until recently that I learned that in order to keep things neat and tidy that (gasp!) I needed to keep up with certain tasks around the home on a daily basis. So here are the 5 easy tasks to do daily for a clean home that can be done in just minutes or even while catching up on The Bachelor after the kids go to bed.
5 Tasks to do Daily for a Clean Home
Dishes
Going to bed with a clean sink makes me happy. Whether it be loading the dishwasher or washing by hand, clean dishes make it look like you have a clean home.
Wipe counters and sinks
Wiping down counters and sinks also help make your kitchen and bathrooms look tidier. Especially those bathroom sinks. I haven an 8 year old who doesn’t exactly spit his toothpaste in a controlled manner and if I let that build up overtime, the sinks never recover. Wiping them down at the end of the day is one trick to keep your home clean.
Stay Organized
Go through the mail each day and throw out things you don’t need, tidy up around the house as needed and put things away, pick up those scattered kid’s toys off the floor. Staying organized helps make keeping your home clean easier than ever.
Make Beds
This is a game changer in feeling like your house is neat and tidy. Every time I make my bed, I feel a sense of accomplishment and my room looks so much nicer. I also make my son make his bed daily because it just looks neater than the random sheets and blankets thrown everywhere.
Laundry
With two kids and two adults in the home the laundry tends to pile up quickly. Doing a load of laundry daily keeps it from achieving overwhelming status. Bonus points if you can wash, dry, fold and put it away all in the same day.
What helps making doing laundry every day easier is having the right fabric care products. Right now you can stock up on these P&G items at your local Target and when you spend $50 you get a $15 gift card! This includes all your fabric care needs including various Tide products, Downy, Gain and my favorites Bounce, Fabric enhancers and NBD detergents.
NBD detergents is my new favorite detergent brand because not only is it clean, gentle for sensitive skin and free of dyes but it also cleans clothes effectively in cold water. (I know! Amazing right?) When I really need a freshness boost to the laundry I add Downy unstoppables to the wash to give my laundry 12 weeks of freshness (perfect for my son’s clothes!). These scent beads can be used on all colors and fabrics and is safe for any washing machine that you have! I love using these with my towels and sheets.
To finish off my laundry routine I rely on Bounce to throw in the dryer to help prevent wrinkles, reduce static cling and soften fabric.
If you constantly feel like the laundry is never ending, attempting to do a load daily helps lessen that burden! Make sure to check out the amazing deal happening right now at Target. Helping you stock up on those fabric care brands you already use and love! Hurry though, this deal ends soon and I promise you don’t want to miss it!
