Always Eat After 7 pm: Week 2

June 8, 2020 Comments : 5

Last week I shared about the new book that is helping me meet my health and weight loss goals. You can check that post out HERE. Knowing how to start living a healthy lifestyle can be challenging. With all the diets available, it makes it hard to decide which one to chose. For me, knowing weight loss and more energy were my main goals; I knew a specific diet that was backed by science and easy (busy mom over here) were key.

This post is sponsored by Always Eat after 7 pm however, all my opinions are my own. You can read my full disclosures HERE.

Since reading Always Eat after 7 pm by Joel Marion, my way of thinking about what a diet meant began to change. It was not only about eating the right foods, but eating them at the right time of the day: when your body is naturally the most hungry. The author is a fitness expert and nutritionist debunking the myths underlying traditional dieting. He offers a simple, highly effective weight loss program. This makes dieting easy and eliminates 90% of reasons for resistance. Easy diet means easier to stick with and easier to know how to start living a healthy lifestyle.

“Fact is, most diets are extremely narrow with regard to food choices and variety, and many even limit entire macronutrients altogether over the course of the entire program (think low-carb and low-fat diets). Three months with no carbs? No thanks. Such practices are entirely unnecessary, but make for a miserable, unsustainable experience.” -Joel Marion

Meet the Author: Joel Marion

how to live a healthy lifestyle

What inspired you to write the book?

After authoring 6 best selling books it was glaringly obvious there were 2 huge misconceptions about dieting that needed to be exposed. The first is that you can’t eat late at night or before bed, which science now shows is NOT true. And second, you can’t eat large portions that satisfy your natural instinct. This book solves both these problems by providing an evidence-based, enjoyable approach to dieting that can be used by any person to quickly achieve their weight loss goals.

How long did it take for you to develop the diet?

It actually took several years of researching for me to discover the real science of eating late night. After a few years of tweaking and refining, I finally came up with a rapid fat loss solution that overcomes all the pitfalls of traditional diets.

What was the most surprising discovery when you were researching scientific data for the diet?

That almost everything my college education and certifications taught me was NOT grounded in published scientific research.

You’re a six-time best selling author, what is different about this book compared to your others?

Although many of the concepts are similar, the biggest difference is that you don’t have to deprive yourself of your favorite foods. You don’t have to deal with the burden of eating every few hours. And you don’t have to skip the carbs at dinnertime or avoid eating before bed.

How difficult is the Always Eat After 7 PM plan to follow?

It’s not. And that’s exactly why I wrote the book. While any diet is never truly easy, it can be more enjoyable and much easier to adhere to when you understand how Always Eat After 7pm works because it caters to our bodies natural instincts.

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Missed miscarriage. Something I wasn’t prepared Missed miscarriage.

Something I wasn’t prepared for, something I didn’t even know was possible until it happened to me. Something I have thought about for the past couple weeks. Essentially my body still thinks it’s pregnant even though there is no fetal heart activity and so I sit here, after my D&C with all these emotions coursing through me.

I’m sad. Sad for the little life that never really grew and I will never know.

I’m disappointed. Disappointed in my body for not doing what it should have done on its own and having to sit with this while I waited to be scheduled for a D&C.

I’m upset. I’m upset that this happened to me. Upset that it has to happen to any woman.

Finally, I’m pissed. Pissed that I had to go through this alone. That I had to sit in that ultrasound room alone because of the office policy of no visitors. That my husband couldn’t be there when they told me that my baby no longer has a heartbeat and having to make the decision about what to do by myself. I’m pissed that people can go to bars, restaurants and pack themselves into the mall but I couldn’t have someone there to hold my hand while I was delivered news that would turn my entire world upside down.

It just doesn’t make sense. None of it makes sense.
I debated even sharing this sine miscarriage is such a taboo topic, but a lot of people have reached out to see if I’m ok and I don’t want to pretend it didn’t exist as well as to let others know that they aren’t alone during this time even when all they feel is alone.

I took this photo the day I found out I was pregnant, hoping to share it eventually but instead I’ll share it now.

I couldn’t go another day without having this sw I couldn’t go another day without having this sweet photo of both my kids and myself on my feed.

Getting photos with the kids is hard and the majority of the time I’m doing it by myself.
I rely on my camera, tripod and timer to snap these shots and anyone who knows this method can relate to it taking many shots to get something resembling what your initial idea was.
Pretty happy to have finally caught this one and not ashamed to admit there was some bribery involved.
