Ever thought about visiting Great Wolf Lodge? Check out their all new Summer Camp-In experience. | Great Wolf Lodge | Family Vacation | Travel | Family Travel |

I have always wanted to bring the kids to Great Wolf Lodge. I have read all the Great Wolf Lodge reviews out there and researched prices and dates, so when they reached out to offer a sneak preview of their new summer camp in program, I jumped at the chance. Our closest Great Wolf Lodge is in Massachusetts which is about a 2.5 hour car ride away from home. There are many other locations around the United States and can find the full list HERE.

I was given a complimentary stay in exchange for my review, however as always, all my opinions are my own. You can see my full disclosures HERE.

Great Wolf Lodge is famous for their indoor water park as well as a multitude of other activities making it the ideal place for families to go. Every season at Great Wolf Lodge brings about the addition of new activities, menu, and even changing uniforms for the staff members. This summer; Great Wolf Lodge is bringing the all new Summer Camp-In to their lineup.

So what can you expect from the all new Summer Camp-In event? Keep reading to check out my full Great Wolf Lodge Review: Summer Camp-In experience.

New Activities at Great Wolf Lodge

With the Summer Camp-In season comes the addition of the Trailblazer challenge which lets kids earn badges and rewards by participating in a variety of different activities. Here are some of the new activities being offered this summer.

Rubber Duck Races

With the new Summer Camp-In lineup comes new activities to their already established list of fun activities for the family. One activity in particular which the kids will love is the Rubber Duck Races. Each day, kids will have the opportunity to decorate a Rubber Duck that will go up against all the other Rubber Ducks decorated that day the next morning in a race to the finish down one of the water slides.

Not only is this activity fun, but the kids get the chance to win prizes if their duck is the first to cross the finish line.

Corn Hole in the Water Park

What kid doesn’t love playing corn hole. Well now they will get the chance to do so while in the water park. So in addition to all the slides, pools and play areas they can now have a little competition with the corn hole game!

Bracelet Making

Kids will also have the chance to decorate their own bracelets with beads and wold paw charms. This is a great way for kids to get a DIY moments from their trip to Great Wolf Lodge.

Campfire Ceremonies

There will be new campfires with face painting, S’mores, story time and a dance party under the stars. So after a full day of waterpark play and activities, this is a great way to end the evening!

New Menu at Great Wolf Lodge

One of the great things about Great Wolf Lodge is their food! They have restaurants on site which means as a family you can enjoy more fun time. This summer, they are adding their BBQ buffet to their restaurant where you can get all your BBQ favorites. Worried they won’t have anything your kids will eat? It includes both adult and kid time favorites (Mac and cheese and create your own baked potato bar).

In addition to new menu items, they have also included some very tasty adult beverages to the menu this summer.

The theme for the suites is changing to reflect the Summer Camp-In event and it is absolutely amazing! The addition of the tepee tent is something that the kids will absolutely love!

Missed miscarriage. Something I wasn’t prepared Missed miscarriage.

Something I wasn’t prepared for, something I didn’t even know was possible until it happened to me. Something I have thought about for the past couple weeks. Essentially my body still thinks it’s pregnant even though there is no fetal heart activity and so I sit here, after my D&C with all these emotions coursing through me.

I’m sad. Sad for the little life that never really grew and I will never know.

I’m disappointed. Disappointed in my body for not doing what it should have done on its own and having to sit with this while I waited to be scheduled for a D&C.

I’m upset. I’m upset that this happened to me. Upset that it has to happen to any woman.

Finally, I’m pissed. Pissed that I had to go through this alone. That I had to sit in that ultrasound room alone because of the office policy of no visitors. That my husband couldn’t be there when they told me that my baby no longer has a heartbeat and having to make the decision about what to do by myself. I’m pissed that people can go to bars, restaurants and pack themselves into the mall but I couldn’t have someone there to hold my hand while I was delivered news that would turn my entire world upside down.

It just doesn’t make sense. None of it makes sense.
I debated even sharing this sine miscarriage is such a taboo topic, but a lot of people have reached out to see if I’m ok and I don’t want to pretend it didn’t exist as well as to let others know that they aren’t alone during this time even when all they feel is alone.

I took this photo the day I found out I was pregnant, hoping to share it eventually but instead I’ll share it now.
