Great Wolf Lodge: Tips for your Stay

June 6, 2019 Comments : 26

My family and I recently had the pleasure of heading to Great Wolf Lodge in Massachusetts for the weekend. We had so much fun playing in the water park, checking out all the activities, eating amazing food and learning all about their new Summer Camp-In experience which can read about HERE.

I also came away from the weekend with 15 tips for your own stay at Great Wolf Lodge!

Tips for your stay

Plan Accordingly

Want to go a certain time of year? Make sure you plan accordingly since many popular times (school vacations, holidays) tend to book up fast. So book your stay early!

Pack Accordingly

Make sure that you pack accordingly, especially for children. Changes of clothes, bathing suits, swim diapers and sandals were staples in my luggage when we went. If you forget your bathing suit don’t worry, the lodge has a bathing suit shop located right by the water park.

Get to water park in the morning

In order to secure your spot. Or you can rent a cabana for the day which guarantees that you will have a nice spot to set up for the day.

Paw Passes are worth it

If you plan on doing other activities at the lodge then Paw Passes are for you. There are different options to chose from but some activities included are Magiquest game, arcade credits and even a cup of candy.

Rooms have fridges

This was especially important for us because we needed whole milk on hand for Avery. You can also put drinks and snacks in it to keep the kids happy!

Don’t forget the ears

My daughter is still obsessed with these ears and wears them all day, every day.

You can use the water park before your room is ready

You can check in early, starting at 1 pm the day of your check in, to your room and go play in the water park before your room is officially ready.

Need caffeine? No problem

Imagine my surprise when I discovered a Dunkin Donuts in the lobby at The Great Wolf Lodge in Massachusetts. Great way to get my caffeine fix in in the morning and prepare for the busy day.

They have towels for the water park

The great thing about this lodge is you don’t have to bring towel, you can get them outside the water park. Just make sure you return them or you will be charged

MagiQuest is a must

Also know that it takes a little while to complete but really fun for the kids to do. To learn more about MagiQuest check it out HERE.

Life jackets are available

Need a life jacket for your little one? There are plenty stocked in the water park.

More activities then water park

In addition to the water park there is a ropes course, mini-golf, Magiquest, story time, dance parties, rock climbing, and so much more.

Multiple food options

Hungry kids? There are multiple dining options at the lodge. Something for everyone, even the pickiest of eaters.

Room key is in your bracelet

Instead of worrying about carrying a round and keeping track of your room key, they have conveniently placed your room key in your activity bracelet.

 Book the family suite

In addition to being decorated for the current session (the summer camp-in is pictured) they have bunk beds for kids and plenty of room for all family members.

I have to agree! You need to use the water park first thing in the morning. It helps maximize time and enjoyment because there won’t be a lot of people in there.

What a wonderful lodge! So often when we stayed someplace the kids would always want to be on the go because there was nothing to do there. Here, they would never want to leave.

I’ve been feeling really overwhelmed and disconn I’ve been feeling really overwhelmed and disconnected lately. From my kids and from my husband. It’s made me feel like a terrible mom and partner.
This pregnancy has been so hard on my body and mind and I have never felt more alone. Maybe because I’m just trying to out a smile on and be happy but most days I’m struggling. Pregnancy after loss is a constant state of anxiety. Filled with feelings of being scared to become too connected with this baby out of fear of something going wrong.
But I’m trying and with every passing week my heart relaxes just a little bit more. So here’s to the final stretch, the third trimester and to all the other mamas out there struggling with similar feelings I’m sending you so much love. ❤️

I hate this world that my children are growing up I hate this world that my children are growing up in. My heart sinks a little every time I send them off to school or daycare, terrified that something out of my control will happen to them. I can control what they eat, what they watch, who they play with to an extent but I can’t control the unknown. And right now raising children feels a little like walking into the unknown.

So where do we go from here?
How do we teach our children about kindness, forgiveness and trust when society these days is throwing the exact opposite in their faces? How do we raise children and make them feel safe in a world that feels so heavy? In the last 24 hours I’ve thought to myself, this could be my children and the pain that goes along with just that thought is not even comparable to the pain the families who sent their children off to school to never come home are feeling right now. The sad truth though is that the next time it could be my children, your children, our community, our schools that are effected by a tragedy like this.
As a parent this is the most terrifying thought of all.

Holding my children a little tighter today and every day because this world is an unpredictable place and holding onto hope that change is coming. ❤️
