Ahhhh Mother’s Day. The one day each year where you get appreciated and showered with flowers or candy because you either grew a tiny human or raised one (this includes adoptive moms and stepmoms). Don’t get me wrong, I love candy and flowers but they either make you fat or they die. This year, I have compiled a list of the stuff I really want for Mother’s Day. I also should note that I am sleep deprived currently with a 2 month old so these mothers day gift ideas may be on the more practical side.
Mothers Day Gift Ideas Moms Actually Want
I don’t even care if it’s only for an hour. I’ve been running on about 3-4 hours of sleep a night and would love some time to nap without the baby next to me or attached to my nipple.
A Fully Cooked Meal
And by that I mean a fully cooked meal that I don’t have to prepare, cook or clean up afterwards. This includes not having to look at the used dishes the next day either. A dinner out would suffice as well.
Lots and lots of wine. Maybe a cute wine glass as well.
A Spa Day
A massage or a facial is great but I really would love a day that is spent just pampering me. I want to be rubbed and scrubbed and wrapped in some weird seaweed. Mostly I just want to spend an entire day listening to soothing music and not listening to kids yell mom over and over again.
A Cleaning Service
What I wouldn’t give to have someone come in and clean my house from top to bottom. If they also want to do a load of laundry, have at it.
Handmade gifts from the kids
Clearly Avery is way to young to handle a paintbrush but I love cute, cheesy hand prints or foot print creations. Hayden generally gives me a cute picture or poem for Mother’s Day and I actually look forward to it every year.
Most importantly I just want to spend time with my children
That is actually all I really want this Mother’s Day because someday they won’t want to spend time with me. Well, Avery really has no choice especially since technically I’m her food source currently.
Lastly, I want to spend time with my mom
The older I get the more thankful I am for my own mom. She has been such a good role model for not only myself but my children as well. So whatever we end up doing on Mother’s Day this year, I at least know we will spend time together and that is the best gift in my opinion.
What is the best gift you have gotten for Mother’s Day? Let me know in the comments!
The best gift I could have asked for this year is my baby gir! This is my first mother’s day so it is extra special. But if I could have anything, it would be to spend with my mom. She lives about 12 hours away, so I miss her like crazy!
That is such a great gift! Congrats! I can’t imagine living that far away from my mom, hang in there.
I would love a nap myself haha! Or just sometime to really pamper myself.
Yes I agree, Naps for Mother’s Day are a must!

Spending time with my mom, having a nice meal that doesn’t require me to lift a finger and a massage sound perfect.
I hope you get all of those things this Mother’s Day!
Lol love your list! I think you deserve all of those!!!
Thank you! I hope you do as well!!

I agree with you. I told my husband that what I really want for Mother’s Day is just a “day off” in a manner of speaking. I don’t want to cook, clean, do dishes, and I just want to sleep in. lol.
Exactly! You deserve it too!
I would totally love a nap. Oh and a spa day this post was spot on for what mom’s really want. Great read.
Thank you!! I think nap is at the top of my list!
Nap, spa day, quite time, a hot cup of coffee and a good book is all I ask for. Is that too much? 😉

Wine and lots of wine haha I love it!
I LOVE these. I want a lot of the same. Several of these have no price and those are the most meaningful.
Hope you get pampered and a nap!

Nice read. I will ask my wife what she likes to receive as a gift. 🙂
Every mother needs those gifts to have a cheerful day 🙂 Cute gifts from kids are one of the amazing things.

Great list! I love a good spa day!
Really cute post. I think the best gift should be that children take over all the work that the mother generally does and make the day memorable.
These are great gift choices. I hope you get at least one of them for Mother’s Day!
I really want to give my mom a spa day and a meal that I cooked for her. And maybe take her to a place where she would love to go.
Lovely.. You spoke for all mums out there.
I’m not a mother yet but I will treat my mom to go hang out on Mothers day and give her flowers as a sign of true love 🙂

I was thinking of a big and comfy pillow too as presents for my mom this Mother’s day.
These are cute and very easy to gift. I hope you receive all of them and more!

Flowers withered and die, chocolates and candies makes you fat – reasons why these two are worst gifts for me. I will be happy for a spa day!
Sing it!All great ideas. I am right there with ya for wine!!
