Mothers Day Gift Ideas

May 9, 2018 Comments : 34

Ahhhh Mother’s Day. The one day each year where you get appreciated and showered with flowers or candy because you either grew a tiny human or raised one (this includes adoptive moms and stepmoms). Don’t get me wrong, I love candy and flowers but they either make you fat or they die. This year, I have compiled a list of the stuff I really want for Mother’s Day. I also should note that I am sleep deprived currently with a 2 month old so these mothers day gift ideas may be on the more practical side.

Mothers Day Gift Ideas Moms Actually Want

A Nap

I don’t even care if it’s only for an hour. I’ve been running on about 3-4 hours of sleep a night and would love some time to nap without the baby next to me or attached to my nipple.

Wondering what the mom or woman in your life wants for mother's day? Here are some mothers day gift ideas that the mom in your life really wants. | Mothers Day gifts | Mothers Day | Mothers Day Ideas |

A Fully Cooked Meal

And by that I mean a fully cooked meal that I don’t have to prepare, cook or clean up afterwards. This includes not having to look at the used dishes the next day either. A dinner out would suffice as well.

Wine

Lots and lots of wine. Maybe a cute wine glass as well.

A Spa Day

A massage or a facial is great but I really would love a day that is spent just pampering me. I want to be rubbed and scrubbed and wrapped in some weird seaweed. Mostly I just want to spend an entire day listening to soothing music and not listening to kids yell mom over and over again.

A Cleaning Service

What I wouldn’t give to have someone come in and clean my house from top to bottom. If they also want to do a load of laundry, have at it.

Handmade gifts from the kids

Clearly Avery is way to young to handle a paintbrush but I love cute, cheesy hand prints or foot print creations. Hayden generally gives me a cute picture or poem for Mother’s Day and I actually look forward to it every year.

Most importantly I just want to spend time with my children

That is actually all I really want this Mother’s Day because someday they won’t want to spend time with me. Well, Avery really has no choice especially since technically I’m her food source currently.

Lastly, I want to spend time with my mom

The older I get the more thankful I am for my own mom. She has been such a good role model for not only myself but my children as well. So whatever we end up doing on Mother’s Day this year, I at least know we will spend time together and that is the best gift in my opinion.

What is the best gift you have gotten for Mother’s Day? Let me know in the comments!

The best gift I could have asked for this year is my baby gir! This is my first mother’s day so it is extra special. But if I could have anything, it would be to spend with my mom. She lives about 12 hours away, so I miss her like crazy!

I agree with you. I told my husband that what I really want for Mother’s Day is just a “day off” in a manner of speaking. I don’t want to cook, clean, do dishes, and I just want to sleep in. lol.

Happy thirty-something birthday to me!! Birthdays Happy thirty-something birthday to me!!

Birthdays used to be a big deal to me, now not so much. Getting older was scary but as the years have gone on, I look at another year older means another year of growth.

Growing as a person, a mom, a friend, a wife, and growing in my own personal goals. My life is pretty damn good and I am loving every second of growing older with the amazing people around me. So cheers to another year around the sun!

Also, getting a photo with balloons is about as hard as getting a photo with your children just in case anyone was wondering! ❤️

Our @icecastles_ adventure was a success! The kids Our @icecastles_ adventure was a success! The kids loved all the fun ice slides, hidden pathways and thousands upon thousands of icicles frozen together to create this winter escape.
Looking to visit one near you? Here are my tips to make your visit fun and exciting.

1. Dress for the weather. Snow pants, hats, boots and warm clothing are a must. We spent over an hour there and the children only complained once they were cold.

2. Mask up. Masks are required. We took ours off briefly for the photo, making sure there was plenty of distance between us and others.

3. Book ahead. You can book your reservation online and it is highly suggested. Times sell out quickly during vacation weeks and on weekends. The day we went was sold out.

4. Bringing a really small child? Make sure to bring a sled to pull them on or put them in a carrier. Strollers will not move through the snow and ice.

5. Visit at night if you can. We didn’t this year but in years past we have gone at night when the Ice Castles are lit up with lights making it that more magical.

Lastly, have fun and stop by the little fire pits set up throughout to warm up.

Have you been to the @icecastles_ this year? What did you think?!
