Ways to Promote Postive Change in the New Year

December 26, 2019 Comments : 22

I love the New Year. It’s a time for a fresh start, a time to set new intentions for what you want for the year. A lot of the time people make resolutions that they end up not sticking with after a couple months. If you find this to be check out How to Crush your New Year’s Goals.

This year instead of making resolutions or goals, I am thinking of ways to promote an overall positive change in my life and have created a list so you can too. Here are 7 ways to promote positive changes in your life this New Year.

Ways to promote positive change in your life this New Year when resolutions just aren't working out. | New Year | New Year Resolutions | Goals |

Set Goals

Set goals for yourself that YOU want to achieve. Don’t worry about what other people want for themselves, focus on what it is you want to achieve this New Year. Most importantly write them down. The only way that you will promote any positive changes in your life is to have your goals laid out in black and white right in front of you.

Reconnect with others

Make more time to reconnect with others in your life. Life gets busy and kids can hinder personal time but it is so important to make that time to reconnect with others in your life. Your family members, old friends, new friends, whoever. Just get out and have some people in your corner to help create a positive change.

Start Saving

And start paying down debts. Not only will this make you feel better but it was also allow you more freedom to have money to do what you want with it.

De-clutter your life

Go through e-mails, stacked up mail, stuff around the house and purge. This is one thing that I am working on slowly. The more clutter that I have around me, the more overwhelmed I feel.

Let go of the past

Letting go of the past is a huge way to promote positive change in the New Year. Stop holding onto whatever or whoever has wronged you, anger towards others or feuds with others. Let it go and I can promise you that you will feel 100 times better.

Eliminate toxic people

Cut people out of your life that are toxic and unhealthy for your overall mind and spirit. That may mean cutting friends loose who are unkind, don’t encourage or support you or are continuously blowing you off. Let go of the ones who are unkind or constantly complaining about every little thing in their lives. These people aren’t your people and won’t be in your corner, lifting you up when you need them.

Self Care is the Best Care

I hate the term self care. However, I feel that in order to promote positive change in your life you need to take care of yourself. You need to take time to do what you love whether it be read a book, take a yoga class, grab a drink with a friend or even take a nap in order to take on the rest.

So tell me what ways your making positive changes in your life this New Year in the comments below!

So true, sometimes you can’t rid yourself of toxic people but at times you can at least minimize the amount of influence they have over your life. Have a wonderful New year!

Missed miscarriage. Something I wasn’t prepared Missed miscarriage.

Something I wasn’t prepared for, something I didn’t even know was possible until it happened to me. Something I have thought about for the past couple weeks. Essentially my body still thinks it’s pregnant even though there is no fetal heart activity and so I sit here, after my D&C with all these emotions coursing through me.

I’m sad. Sad for the little life that never really grew and I will never know.

I’m disappointed. Disappointed in my body for not doing what it should have done on its own and having to sit with this while I waited to be scheduled for a D&C.

I’m upset. I’m upset that this happened to me. Upset that it has to happen to any woman.

Finally, I’m pissed. Pissed that I had to go through this alone. That I had to sit in that ultrasound room alone because of the office policy of no visitors. That my husband couldn’t be there when they told me that my baby no longer has a heartbeat and having to make the decision about what to do by myself. I’m pissed that people can go to bars, restaurants and pack themselves into the mall but I couldn’t have someone there to hold my hand while I was delivered news that would turn my entire world upside down.

It just doesn’t make sense. None of it makes sense.
I debated even sharing this sine miscarriage is such a taboo topic, but a lot of people have reached out to see if I’m ok and I don’t want to pretend it didn’t exist as well as to let others know that they aren’t alone during this time even when all they feel is alone.

I took this photo the day I found out I was pregnant, hoping to share it eventually but instead I’ll share it now.

I couldn’t go another day without having this sw I couldn’t go another day without having this sweet photo of both my kids and myself on my feed.

Getting photos with the kids is hard and the majority of the time I’m doing it by myself.
I rely on my camera, tripod and timer to snap these shots and anyone who knows this method can relate to it taking many shots to get something resembling what your initial idea was.
Pretty happy to have finally caught this one and not ashamed to admit there was some bribery involved.

2. Sunglasses
3. Water bottle
4. Bubble wands
