My Slightly Chaotic Life

Balancing Life, Children and Chaos

Lifestyle

Welcome February

February 1, 2018 Leave a Comment

I love February. It’s my birthday month for one (which now that I am getting older is something I look forward to less and less), it’s also the month where we celebrate love (Valentine’s Day) and this year it is one month before I will be having this baby. It is also one month closer to Spring which let’s face it, is way better then winter in my opinion. This month I will turn 33, celebrate my baby shower for this little girl and try and spend some one on one time with my son who will soon be losing his “only child” title. While he technically lost that title with the introduction of my boyfriend and his daughter into the household, I know that this transition may still be a difficult one for him and want to relish in the time that I have with just the two of us.

Lately I haven’t really been feeling inspired to write or create for that matter since the third trimester pregnancy insomnia as well as the winter blues have officially kicked in. Living in Maine has it’s perks if you are a fan of winter. There is always an abundance of cold weather and snow. Personally, I am not a huge fan of the snow or cold so while I try to get out and do things for my own sanity as well as my 6 year old’s, I prefer to stay home. We did manage to get out last weekend and try out ice skating at an ice rink in Portland with a friend and her two children. The kids had a lot of fun and I learned that my child is actually pretty fearless.

Typically I enjoy sewing and creating quilts, bibs and headbands for babies but my lack of energy has pushed that to the back burner. Hopefully this month I can reinvigorate my creativity and begin to write and sew more which is one of my goals for this month. Maybe complete some unfinished projects that have been sitting around begging to be finished especially while I have the time now. In just a couple short months that will all change and I’ll continue to try to balance being a mom, a girlfriend and a nurse with another little one in tow!

#ad I love baking and cooking, especially this tim #ad I love baking and cooking, especially this time of the year. Cleaning up after it’s done? Not so much. And some of my favorite dishes to make involve a lot of stuck on and burnt on stains. Thankfully we have switched to the New Finish® Ultimate for our dishwasher and it works on even the toughest of conditions.

So now I can cook whatever I want (even my all time favorite: apple pie) knowing that Finish® Ultimate is doing the hard work and getting my dishes clean. Are you ready to make the switch? Available to purchase at @target online and in-store!

And make sure to check out my stories as I show you how I took on the Ultimate Challenge to see if Finish® Ultimate would really work in the toughest conditions!

I made so many mistakes with my first and it felt like I was growing up right along side him. I learned so much from being his mom and raising him that when my daughters came along I was much more prepared to raise them and felt more confident in being their mom.
So my son did grow up with me and I’m so thankful for the relationship that we have now.
