Some of the best memories that I have as a child are doing the times that we traveled. The memories made, sights seen and time spent with my family was invaluable to me growing up. As I grew up and started having children of my own; I knew that I wanted to make sure there were moments like I experienced when I was younger. There are so many reasons that family travel is essential to building stronger bonds and getting some one on one time with your children while exploring other places. This is why travel with kids can be so important to their development as they grow up.
Disconnecting
Disconnecting is one reason why travel with kids is important. Disconnecting from phones, social media, video games, other people, etc. really opens up those moments to truly spend time together as a family.
Exploring Our World
Exploring new places and immersing your children in other cultures can help them grow and learn from others. When just going to a different state can demonstrate to your children how other people live. When we were recently in Florida at Disney World, there were many people for different cultures and background. My son over heard a family talking in foreign language to him and asked me what it was. I recognized it as Spanish from my very limited time in a foreign language class in the early years of college. This interested him enough to start researching all the countries were Spanish is predominantly spoken. This is a very small way that we are exploring our world but the opportunities are out there.
Family Time
Another reason to travel with kids is to have more family time. Getting away for a weekend, a week or however long allows you the important time to spend with your family. Not only can you reconnect with your children but your partner as well by having that extra time together.
Create Memories
Some of my favorite memories that I have as a child was when we took trips as a family. I am a firm believer in less things and more experiences that children will remember for many years after the experience is over. My son still remembers many of our trips and the things that we did on them. Traveling with your kids is the perfect way to create lifelong memories with your children.
Get Away
Stepping away from the stress of work and the day to day life can be a refreshing change of pace not only for the parents, but the kids as well. Even though going away on vacation may not necessarily be relaxing, it can be a great way to recharge and get some much needed time away.
